Purple leaf plum (scientific name: Prunus cerasifera 'atropurpurea'), also known as red leaf plum, is a deciduous small tree of Prunus in Rosaceae, with a height of up to 8 meters. It is native to southwest Asia and widely planted in North China and its south. The leaves are often purplish red. It is a famous foliage tree. It is suitable for solitary and group planting, and can set off the background. In particular, the purple shiny leaves, in the green leaves, are like eternal flowers, forming a beautiful scenery in the green mountains and rivers.

Growth habit:

Purple leaf plum likes sunshine, warm and humid climate, and has certain drought resistance. It has strong adaptability to soil, is not resistant to drought, and is relatively resistant to water and humidity. However, it grows well in fertile, deep, and well drained viscous neutral and acidic soil, and is not resistant to alkali. The sandy soil is the best, and the clay soil can also grow. The root system is shallow and the sprouting force is strong.

Curing method:

After the plant enters the dormancy or semi dormancy period in winter, the thin and weak branches, diseases and insect pests, dead branches and dense branches shall be cut off.
