Mosquito mother (scientific name: Distylium racemosum Sieb. Et Zucc.) is an evergreen small tree or shrub with a height of 16 meters and a spreading crown. The end of the tender branch is provided with star shaped scale hairs, and the branchlets are zigzag. The terminal bud is oblique and dark brown. Simple leaves alternate, leaves thick leathery, smooth, elliptic or obovate, apex blunt, neither wide wedge-shaped, smooth and glabrous, abaxial veins slightly raised, entire. Flowering from April to may, racemes, bracts needle shaped.

Growth habit:

It is positive, likes warm and hot climate, likes humidity, and is resistant to toxic gases. It is cold resistant and shade resistant, and has no strict requirements on soil.

Curing method:

1. Drought. If the watering is not timely or the watering is not thorough, it can cause dry defoliation. The whole plant needs to be sprayed before watering to save it.

2. Insufficient light. If there is a long-term lack of light, especially in winter and spring, better light should be given, otherwise leaves will fall.

3. Fertilizer damage. If fertilizing or too much fertilizing in winter will result in falling leaves, it needs to be watered more, and then placed in a ventilated and semi shady place. After half a month or so, normal maintenance can be resumed.

4. Pests. Although it has few pests and diseases, it is often harmed by scale insects during indoor maintenance. Although these insects are small, they are extremely harmful and need to be timely controlled. It is best to spray special insecticides, such as chlorpyrifos and chlorpyrifos.
